About Us

Our Mission Statement

Our mission at Equine Veterinary Services is to provide top quality lameness, reproductive and illness care coupled with superior wellness programs for horses in an effort to allow each individual horse to accomplish the competitive goals of their owners and the recreational value we all seek to have a happy, healthy and successful life.

About Us

Equine Veterinary Services (EVS) is a full-service veterinary clinic and breeding facility located in Terrell. Founded as an ambulatory practice in January of 1992 by Dr. Kenton H. Arnold, EVS was originally based in Sunnyvale, Equine Veterinary Services relocated a year later to its current location, a 38-acre picturesque facility located at I-20 and FM 2578 in Terrell, TX.

The entire EVS staff is dedicated to providing high quality, comprehensive medical care for horses in Dallas, Kaufman, Rockwall and Van Zandt Counties. The equine veterinary clinic focuses on performance horse lameness and reproductive issues as well as wellness programs for all breeds.

Kenton H. Arnold, DVM

Dr. Arnold holds degrees from Southwest Texas State University and Texas A&M University as well as a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University.

An active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, he writes for equestrian publications on issues related to the health and well-being of performance and breeding horses. Dr. Arnold has served as a regular columnist for multiple equine publications and was a Founding Board Member for the Texas Horse Park.

Dr. Arnold is an avid cutting horse enthusiast, competing on a regular basis in NCHA, and AQHA competitions. He has been a top ten finisher multiple times in both cutting and pole bending competition at the prestigious AQHA World Show.

Prior to establishing his own private practice, Dr. Arnold was an associate veterinarian with Equiplex Veterinary Hospital in Flower Mound, where he worked with Dr. Bobby Willard.

Dr. Arnold is a founding associate of Animal Imaging, an outpatient imaging facility which provides state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services to veterinarians, located in Irving. Dr. Arnold currently serves on the membership committee of the Texas Equine Veterinary Association, where he is also involved with the organization's Equitarian Outreach Project in Guatemala.

Dr. Bridget L. Bourke

Bridget L. Bourke, DVM

Dr. Bridget Bourke joined Equine Veterinary Services in November 2016 as an Associate Veterinarian. She is a Magna Cum Laude 2010 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and has extensive experience in Veterinary Medicine in both Florida and Arizona. Dr. Bourke also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colorado State University with a bachelors in Equine Science after growing up in Michigan and Maryland. She currently resides in Florida, and spends several weeks each month practicing veterinary medicine in Texas at Equine Veterinary Services.

Dr. Bourke’s love of horses started at a young age. She has extensive show experience in children/ adult hunters, lower level jumpers, and novice eventing - yet secretly hopes to one day ride a reining horse. Professionally, she enjoys internal veterinary medicine cases, geriatric horses, and foaling out mares.

Dr. Jennifer Wickline

Jennifer Wickline, DVM

Dr. Jennifer Wickline first joined Equine Veterinary Services as an Associate Veterinarian in June of 2012 after completing a professional internship with Reata Equine Hospital in Weatherford, Texas. She left the practice in December of 2014 and returned to Weatherford working with Dr. Leea Arnold at The Arnold Reproduction Center. In December of 2016 Dr. Wickline returned to Equine Veterinary Services. She has a life-time of equine experience as a competitor and owner, and prides herself on being a top equine veterinarian.

Dr. Wickline is a 2007 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Texas A&M University in Biomedical Science. She graduated from the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2011 with honors. Dr. Wickline was honored with numerous awards during her academic years including the prestigious Mattie & Ben T. Little Memorial Scholarship, William F. Egan Memorial Scholarship, and the Stevenson Center Memorial Scholarship.

Dr. Wickline first became interested in veterinary medicine during a co-op class her senior year in high school with Dr. Arnold at Equine Veterinary Services.  It was during this time that her interest in breeding, equine medicine and lameness first became evident. Today she utilizes her vast knowledge of horses to practice high-quality medicine with a special flair toward emergency medicine.

Dr. Wickline is married to Steven Collins and the couple lives in Wills Point, Texas. They enjoy traveling the world together.


Alissa is our Office Coordinator

Alissa D. Stefan, Office Manager

Alissa Stefan joined the EVS Team in October of 2016 as the Front Office Coordinator and was promoted to Office Manager in March of 2017. Bringing almost 30 years of customer service experience to the clinic, she offers clients assistance in every way possible with her superior eye for detail. A lifelong horse woman, Alissa says she cannot imagine life without horses. Alissa and her family moved to Texas from Alaska in 2015 in pursuit of year-round time in their saddles barrel racing and roping.

Carly Gajdos, Veterinary Technician

Carly Gajdos, Veterinary Tech

Carly Gajdos joined EVS in August of 2017 as a Vet Tech. She brought a long list of equine experience with her to the position including training from Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre. Originally from Indiana, Carly has been involved with horses as a trainer, massage therapist, and barn manager for years. She loves horses and horse people, which is obvious in her daily work at EVS.

Maria Granello, Veterinary Technician

Maria Granello, Veterinary Tech

Maria Granello began working at EVS in the summer of 2013 as a volunteer clinic intern. Today she offers superior horse handling and vet tech skills as part of her seasonal work in the practice. Maria has spent her life on horseback where she shows in eventing and dressage competitions. She is a graduate of the Episcopal School of Dallas. She is also an honors graduate of Sewanee: the University of the South where she received a degree in Biology, and a minor in Chemistry. Maria is currently attending the Texas A&M University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Whitney Sinks

Whitney Sinks, Veterinary Tech

Whitney Sinks has been surrounded by horses all of her life. She is a hard-core animal lover and has owned just about every kind of pet you can think of. A Rockwall Heath High School graduate, Whitney attended Trinity Valley Community College on a rodeo scholarship. After transferring to Sam Houston State University, she graduated in 2013 with an Animal Science degree. She is an accomplished roper and barrel racer, and spends her spare time competing and giving lessons to new riders and youth competitors. Whitney says she loves her veterinary support work and feels blessed to be able to work with horses every day.


Anna Vincent, Veterinary Tech

Anna Vincent joined EVS in 2016 as a veterinary technician bringing years of equine experience to her role. She is a 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Animal Science and is a certified Equine Sports Massage therapist. Anna owns Quarter Horses and a palomino Belgian cross which she enjoys riding for pleasure with her family. An avid karaoke participant, Anna loves the sense of community among the people in the equine industry and is excited to work every day with fellow equestrians.

Maddie Frizzell

Maddie Frizzell, Veterinary Assistant

Maddie Frizzell joined EVS is the summer of 2016 as an intern and now works with the clinic as a Veterinary Assistant. She is a graduate of Rockwall High School and is a pre-vet student at Oklahoma State University. Maddie grew up showing Arabians and half-Arabians, and says that is where her interest in veterinary medicine was born. This future veterinarian finds time to volunteer with a kitten rescue in Oklahoma to add a little diversion to her equine obsession.

Jim Arnold

Jim Arnold, Facility Coordinator

Jim Arnold has been a major contributor to EVS since 1992. Jim holds both a bachelors’ degree and master’s degree from Sul Ross University. He is respected equine photographer specializing in cutting horse action, stallions and auction photography. Jim is webmaster for multiple organizations and businesses including Equine Veterinary Services.

Daniel Talavera

Daniel Talavera, Maintenance Coordinator

Daniel Talavera was with the famous Star Brand Ranch in Kaufman, Texas for 14 years before joining EVS in July of 2017. Daniel oversees maintenance projects at the clinic including mowing, painting, grooming and repairing the facility. He works hard to keep the equine clinic in top form. Daniel and his beautiful wife have three daughters, and a grandson.

Lindsey Miller

Lindsey Miller, Ranch Assistant

Lindsey Miller is a recent graduate of Scurry-Rosser High School and joined EVS in the summer of 2016. She has been a horse lover her entire life. Lindsey rode her first horse at four, received her first pony at six and has competed in speed events ever since. A self-declared animal lover, Lindsey cares for her chickens and a multitude of animals in her spare time. She plans to make animal care her life career within the veterinary and wildlife rehabilitation industries.

Austria Arnold, Communications Coordinator

A life-long equine competitor, Austria Arnold is the EVS Communications Coordinator. A graduate of The Hockaday School in Dallas, Austria is a presidential scholar at Baylor University where she studies Journalism, French and Entrepreneurship. She has won multiple titles in the cutting pen including the 2014 National Youth Cutting Horse Association World Championship. In 2016 Austria was named to Team USA for the AQHA Youth World Cup in Tamworth, Australia, where she won both competitions and was crowned the 2016 Youth World Cup Cutting Champion. Over the years, Austria has won multiple AQHA awards, including youth high-point cutter in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015. Austria plans to eventually practice law, while continuing her cutting horse obsession.

Carroll Brown Arnold

Carroll Brown Arnold, HR/Marketing Director

Carroll Brown Arnold has been involved with EVS since its inception and is married to clinic founder Dr. Kenton H. Arnold. An award winning writer, Carroll has been published in multiple travel and equine publications, and is the former publisher of America’s Cutter and America’s Barrel Racer magazines. She currently writes for Carroll is a graduate of Southern Methodist University and has completed graduate work at the University of North Texas. She works with organizations in the non-profit and equine industries, while overseeing the IT, marketing, social media and branding efforts for the equine clinic. Carroll received her first horse as a 16th birthday gift from her parents and went on to fill the next thirty years competing in barrel racing, pole bending and cutting horse competitions. Today she enjoys cutting events with her husband and daughter Austria.
